Common questions

How do I start a circuit?

Tap New on the library screen. Start blank, pick one of the ten starter circuits, or open an exercise. The first exercise, Ohm’s law, is the shortest way in.

I bought Ohmira Complete and it is still locked

Open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchase. On iPhone and iPad, make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with; on Android, the same Google account. If the purchase is still pending approval, everything opens on its own once approval is given.

My circuits are not syncing between iPhone and iPad

This is an iPhone and iPad question: there is no synchronisation on Android. Both devices must be signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud Drive on, and Ohmira must be enabled in the iCloud settings on each. Sync is not instant: give it a moment on a working connection. If the same circuit was edited on both devices while offline, the most recent edit wins.

How do I move a circuit from Android to iPhone, or back?

Export it as a .ohmira file on one and import it on the other. The format is the same on both platforms, so nothing is lost in the crossing.

An exercise will not validate, and I think it should

Check the message under the instruction that has not ticked off: it names what the check found, such as a value that is not the nearest one asked for, or a terminal left unwired. If you are convinced the circuit is right, send it to me as an exported file and I will look at it.

The simulation says it could not settle

That usually means the circuit has no ground, a part of it is stranded with no path back, or a loop is left open. The message on screen names which of those it is and what to add.

How do I get my circuits out of the app?

Any circuit can be exported as a .ohmira file and shared, kept, or opened on another device. Export is free and always will be, whatever is unlocked.

How do I report a bug or ask for a component?

By email. Requests for components and exercises genuinely shape what gets built next, so they are worth sending.
